Richard Mallender – Rushcliffe

Richard Mallender for Rushcliffe
Councillor Richard Mallender on the Avenue in West Bridgford

George Richard Mallender (known as Richard) has been a councillor for Lady Bay ward on Rushcliffe Borough Council since 2007. Gaining the seat for the Green Party from Labour, and holding it ever since by working hard for local residents.

The residents of Lady Bay know Richard as he is involved in so many of the local activities that form the social fabric of the area. He can be found enjoying the open gardens, walking round the Safari Sale, and even skilfully applying a scythe to help manage the meadow land on The Hook.

Prior to his move to Lady Bay, Richard was a city councillor for the Brighton and Hove Preston Park Ward (2003-2007), and spent some time working with the Red Cross in their Lewes and Hove branches.

As a former local Green Party chair, and chair of the National Executive team Richard is a font of knowledge on the inner workings and history of the Green Party.

Richard is standing as our parliamentary candidate for Rushcliffe for the fourth time. Richard has been standing up for residents in Rushcliffe and helping improve their lives and environment for decades and we’re very proud to have him.
