Greens to field full slate for General Election in Nottingham

The Nottingham Green Party has announced its list of candidates for the general election in May 2015 and for the first time they will be contesting all 5 of the Nottingham constituencies it covers.

Announcing the candidate list, Green Party chairperson Margret Vince said, “I am so pleased to be able to announce that for the first time, everyone in the City will have the chance to vote Green in a general election. In the last year our membership has more than quadrupled, reflecting the ‘Green Surge’ in support for the Greens across the country. People have had enough of the failed policies of the mainstream parties that have favoured power and wealth over the real needs of people. The Green Party will bring a real alternative into this election and challenge the failed policies of austerity and privatisation.”

Membership of the Green Party in the UK has now passed 50,000, more than either the Liberal Democrats or UKIP.

The Green list of candidates:

Kat Boettge for Nottingham North
Richard Mallender for Rushcliffe
Adam McGregor for Nottingham South
Jim Norris for Gedling
Antonia Zenkevitch for Nottingham East
