You can meet other members and supporters for friendly chats at our monthly Green Gathering! We feature political discussions on various topics, with special guests.

The gatherings are usually at 7.30pm on the first Monday of the month.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic we have held hybrid meetings using the Zoom platform. Attendees are welcome to join us either in-person or online!

Details vary - join our mailing list to be notified of where and when we are meeting this month!

The address of our venue is:

Nottingham Writers Studio
The Carousel
25 Hockley
Nottingham
NG1 1FH.

August and December meetings are usually socials, and may take place at different locations: members and supporters will be kept informed by email.

All are invited to attend!

If you have any accessibility requirements please let us know. The venue is fully wheelchair-accessible. If you would like a lift by car to the meeting, or you would be more comfortable meeting someone at a venue more familiar to you to accompany you to the meeting, please also let us know.

Volunteer

Even if you don't want to make the commitment of joining us, we always welcome supporters and volunteers. Volunteers can help with our campaigning work. Could you help deliver leaflets to your street, or go out with our campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns?

Do you have fundraising experience or web design, press, research and administrative skills?  Whatever your level of experience and however much or little time you can give, we would love to hear from you.

Fighting elections campaigns is expensive and we truly appreciate all the support you can give to help get Greens elected.

Stand for Council

Although Nottingham Green Party covers only five parliamentary constituencies, we also cover over one hundred and fifty council wards. We need enthusiastic, committed, and diverse individuals to stand as candidates.

To stand as a Green Party candidate you must be a paid-up member of the Green Party and support its main aims and policies.

To satisfy Electoral Commission regulations, you must also:

  • be at least 18 years old on the day of your nomination
  • be a British citizen, an eligible Commonwealth citizen or a citizen of any other member state of the European Union
  • be either registered as a local government elector from the day of your nomination, or have lived or worked in the local authority area in which you wish to stand during the whole of the 12 months before the day of your nomination and the day of election.

You are disqualified from standing if:

  • you are employed by the local authority or hold a paid office under the authority
  • you hold a politically restricted post with a local authority
  • you are the subject of a bankruptcy restrictions order or interim order
  • you have been sentenced to a term of imprisonment of three months or more (including a suspended sentence), without the option of a fine, during the five years before polling day, or
  • you have been disqualified under the Representation of the People Act 1983 (which covers corrupt or illegal electoral practices and offences relating to donations) or under the Audit Commission Act 1998.

Contact us if you would like to stand for the Green Party in an upcoming election.
