Kaye on behalf of the NCVS Green Group writes:-

If anyone is interested in finding out what the Transition Towns movement is all about this is the event to attend.

TT is a national movement consisting of many local community groups aimed at easing the transition of their communities to the rapidly approaching issue of Peak Oil. With oil touching $120 a barrel this week that does not feel very far off!

These groups will need to and are actively encouraged to work in partnership with their various local authorities to ensure root and branch progress. They are likely to be in contact at some level soon after establishment.

Transition Nottingham is rapidly growing and even merited a mention on the Archers last week I am told. There is apparently discussion in Ambridge of setting up Transition Ambridge; their finger is on the pulse there as always!

One of the biggest immediate differences you can make in combating climate change is switching to a green electricity supplier. It doesn't even have to cost you any more. Visit http://www.greenelectricity.org and switch now.
