Although we don't have elections in Nottinghamshire this year other part of the country do, including the London Assembly & Mayoral elections.
 
We had an election broadcast on Tuesday the 15th  at 6.30 pm and on ITV, 6.55 pm on the BBC.
The broadcasts can be viewed at www.sianformayor.org.uk and www.votegreenparty.org.uk.

The latter website also includes information on the main issues we are campaigning on for these elections.

In case you are wondering why there's no phone number at the end of the broadcast, it's the BBC's fault!   The week before the broadcast, after the film had been completed, the BBC imposed two new regulations:

(1) All broadcasts have to include a 'health warning' about the potential for calls to party numbers to attract charges. They supplied text that needs to appear together with phone numbers.

(2) All phone numbers shown on the screen must appear for at least eight seconds.
 
We could have complied with the first requirement, but we do not have eight seconds at the end of our broadcast to show a number.
In order to make room for this, the broadcast would have had to have been entirely reworked, and we had neither the time or the money for this.
 
In the event, we had to hire a studio to remove the phone number that was there. So not only are we left with no number, but we are also £1500 out of pocket! I will be writing a formal letter of complaint to the BBC.

In any case, the web address still appears on the broadcast, and we think it is a good film.
