Some of you may know of or have visited Hockerton Housing Project. Well they have just written to me asking us to urgently support their application for a 225kw wind turbine. The turbine will be community owned and will generate enough energy to supply the whole village of Hockerton.

Dear Ms Fitzpatrick,
With reference to planning application 07/01578/FUL
I fully support the above planning proposal for the Hockerton parish wind turbine. This application will mean that Hockerton becomes carbon neutral and I believe it is an extremely positive step in the nations fight against climate change.
This important proposal will mean that Hockerton plays a radical part in not only reducing it's CO2 emissions (in line with government targets) but also helps reduce their dependence on fossil fuels and dangerous nuclear energy. I sincerely hope that this application is approved and that other parishes across the country will follow in Hockerton's footsteps.
Tackling climate change is now a matter of great urgency and we must approve of and support the hard work of the community in Hockerton - they are to be commended for their plans and commitment to sustainability. This community is a credit to Nottingham.
