You might have heard on the news today about an initiative launched by environmentally based charities called the Green Standard, http://www.thegreen

I have discovered that it was Rushcliffe Borough Council that dredged the stream in December, although it is the Environment Agency that is moving large quantities of earth around to protect against flooding.
The following information is the news release which was issued on Monday 20 March following the announcement that Rushcliffe had been awarded Beacon Council status for waste and recycling. The judges' comments on the Council's Beacon performance, as well as this news release, and a news release from the ODPM, are on the Council's website under 'news'
I am against the development of Sharphill Wood and support the views of the Local Plan inspector who considered that the housing allocation should be dispersed amongst the larger villages, in particular, Cotgrave. I am also opposed to the County Council's idea of building on the flood plain near Adbolton.
The Green Party in Nottingham is fully supportive of the campaign to protect Sharphill Wood site and the Green Belt as a whole.
