Adam McGregor, Green Party candidate for Nottingham South

Adam McGregor has lived in the Lenton Abbey area of Nottingham South for 6 years. Originally from London, he came to Nottingham as a student at the University of Nottingham, and decided to stay to help improve his local community.

He has for many years volunteered for his local community and food bank. He has also been involved in activist groups such as the People's Assembly Against Austerity, the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, Stop the War, and Frack Free Notts.

At 28, Adam will be the youngest candidate running for the seat, and was also the Green Party candidate in the 2015 general election.

Adam is appalled at the way the government has treated young people, selling out their futures on education and the economy, and its extreme Brexit plans.

If elected, Adam would push to completely scrap tuition fees and student debt, bring private rents under control, and protect the right to freedom of movement.

Adam said, "I'm delighted to be selected once again to represent the Green Party in Nottingham South.

"After living in the area for so many years I have seen first hand how the Tory government has been forcing cuts to public services and education and driving families to food banks.

"We need a new economic model for the people of Nottingham – a Real Living Wage to bring low-income workers out of poverty, and real action on tax avoidance that costs us billions of pounds a year."
